Blue Dragon Film Awards ke-40 telah mengumumkan nominasi. Blue Dragon Film Awards tahun ini dijadwalkan berlangsung pada 21 November di Paradise City Hotel and Resort di Incheon.
Film yang dirilis antara 12 Oktober 2018 hingga 10 Oktober 2019 memenuhi syarat untuk nominasi, yang dipilih melalui survei para pakar industri film. Meskipun 18 penghargaan akan diberikan pada saat upacara, namun hanya 15 kategori yang telah mengumumkan nominasi.
Tiga kategori yang tersisa (Popularity Award, Best Short Film, and Most Viewed Picture) akan diungkapkan saat upacara berlangsung.
“Parasite,” Bong Joon Ho, yang mendapat banyak perhatian tahun ini baik di dalam negeri maupun internasional setelah memenangkan Palme d’Or di Festival Film Cannes, telah menerima 12 nominasi.
“Extreme Job” dan “Swing Kids” masing-masing mendapat delapan nominasi, sementara “Svaha: The Sixth Finger” menerima tujuh nominasi.
